For instance, Ipanema Beach, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is shown on February's page. This stunning beach was made famous by the classic bossa nova tune Girl From Ipanema and is the favoured destination of the 'beautiful people' for relaxation: sunbathing, swimming, sports and surfing. Set in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in Rio, it is flanked by the towering Dois Irmaos (Two Brothers) mountains. June's photo is of the Acropolis, Athens, Greece. The steep-sided, flat-topped limestone rock of the Acropolis is the highest point of the city, rising abruptly 100m from its surroundings. Crowned by the dramatic ruins of the Parthenon temple, built during the 5th century BC and dedicated to the goddess Athena, it is considered the finest example of Greek architecture, constructed entirely of Pendeli marble, an enduring symbol of Ancient Greece.
