Working Horse Calendar Overview

The Working Horse calendar takes a nostalgic look back in time to the days when strong and beautiful working horses were the mainstay of life in the countryside and towns. All painted in intricate detail by landscape artist Robin Wheeldon, horses are portrayed at work, individually and in pairs, in different seasons of the year and in all kinds of weather. Each scene conveys the strong bond between humans and horses. Sowing, ploughing, harvesting and transporting goods and loads are some of the activities illustrated in the artist's beautifully crafted paintings.

In one painting, two beautiful white and dapple-grey shire horses are shown pulling a cargo of beer from a brewery on a wagon being driven by a coachman dressed in smart uniform and bowler hat. Another scene shows a man at a ploughing match with two horses pulling a plough as they aim to go in the straightest line possible.
