Slimline World Wildlife Calendar Overview

Animals from around the globe - some solitary, others more gregarious - are revealed in the World Wildlife calendar, through beguiling images in which give an insight into their spirit. This calendar is a must for all wildlife lovers, and indeed, for everyone to enjoy.

The Rufous-tailed hummingbird appears in one photo, taken in Costa Rica. This beautiful, medium-sized hummingbird lives in humid tropical lowlands near the edges of forests. It feeds on nectar and small insects and can be very territorial at feeding sites, chasing away other hummingbirds and big insects. Its chestnut-brown (‘rufous’) tail provide its name. More familiar to us, the African Elephant is pictured in Kenya in another image. Elephants are highly social creatures, travelling in complex herds. Calves stay with their mother for up to 10 years but are also tended to by the other females in the herd. They learn by watching their elders, and gradually get better at using their trunks for greeting each other, feeding and drinking.
