The image for March is of Bridlington Marina and Harbour, East Yorkshire with a pleasure cruiser moored near the harbour wall. Bridlington or ‘Brid’ lies just south of Flamborough Head in Bridlington Bay. Enclosed by two stone piers, the magnificent harbour and fishing port was established where the Gypsey Race stream runs into the sea. In the 19th century it grew into a seaside resort after the discovery of a mineral spring. Bridlington is well known for its shellfish and is popular for sea angling trips or further out to local shipwrecks.
