Beauty of Wales Calendar Overview

The splendour of the Welsh landscape, superbly photographed, can be experienced in the Beauty of Wales calendar. This bilingual calendar has the days, months and titles in both Welsh and English. All the striking images capture the beauty and diversity of Wales throughout the changing seasons.

One photo depicts Laugharne Castle, Carmarthenshire. The romantic ruins of this 13th century castle stand on a spur overlooking the picturesque Tâf estuary. It was one of a string of defensive fortresses along the South Wales coast and has been gradually restored. The writer Dylan Thomas created some of his work in the castle gardens. On another page there’s a wintery view of the Sugar Loaf Mountain, a hill rising above Abergavenny in Monmouthshire that sits within the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is the southernmost of the summit peaks of the Black Mountains, with a height of 596m. Its pinched peak is accessed by soft slopes on all sides, with panoramic views from the summit.
