Welsh Splendour Calendar Overview

The Welsh Splendour calendar highlights some of the most glorious landscapes of Wales, with contrasting images of a variety of scenic Welsh locations. Interesting background notes provide further information and all dates, days and location names are shown in both Welsh and English in this bilingual calendar.

For instance, there's an alluring image of a beautiful waterfall at Ystradfellte, Powys. A curtain of water cascades over a cliff into a sparkling pool in this captivating waterfall on the Afon Nedd Fechan, one of several on tributaries of the River Neath. Riverside paths in the delightful 'Waterfall Country' wind through lush woodland and past many waterfalls in the narrow, wooded gorges that cut through the southern Brecon Beacons. In another fabulous image we see Barafundle Bay in Pembrokeshire. This secluded, crescent-shaped bay of golden sand backed by grassy dunes, pine trees and gorse-covered headland has been voted one of Britain's finest beaches. Situated on the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, it is reached on foot from Stackpole Quay, a small shingle cove, nestled amongst the cliffs.
