Destinations Desk Calendar Overview

Dazzling images in the Destinations desk calendar are an invitation to explore and immerse yourself in exotic faraway places all over the globe.

One picture shows Corvin Castle, Hunedoara, Transylvania in Romania. One of Europe’s largest castles, this medieval castle stands on a rocky cliff, accessed by a narrow drawbridge. Built in the 15th century, the castle may have once imprisoned Vlad the Impaler - likely inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. It has defensive towers, many windows and balconies with intricate stone carvings and gothic-style pointed turrets. In another photo we are transported to Queenstown, Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand. Situated on the northeast edge of Lake Wakatipu amid towering peaks, Queenstown is a hub for adventure tourism, hiking and winter sports. The Remarkables mountain range rises on the southeast side of the glacial lake. First settled by M?ori, then by European explorers, the town became a gold mining centre when gold was discovered in the Arrow River in 1862.
