Discover Beautiful Britain Desk Calendar Description

Indulge your eyes in stunning photography of some of our best-loved places and other less familiar beauty spots in this novel desk calendar.

February’s dramatic photo shows Cheddar Gorge, cleaved into the limestone of the Mendip Hills. It is England’s largest gorge with near-vertical cliffs, crags and pinnacles, an amazing natural landscape formed after the last Ice Age. There’s a spectacular view of Twr Mawr Lighthouse on Anglesey, perched on the rocky peninsula of Llanddwyn Island with steps cut into the rock and a vista of the mountains of Snowdonia. It was built in 1873 in a conical style, resembling Anglesey’s windmills.
