Down Memory Lane Calendar Description

The Down Memory Lane calendar takes a nostalgic look back in time at road haulage vehicles, depicted against different UK landscapes in different seasons of the year, together with fascinating background facts. Paintings of bygone road transport from the talented artists Allen Spillett, Mike Jeffries and David Briggs portray scenes from past times in superb detail, which will appeal to today’s hauliers, historic road transport enthusiasts and art lovers alike.

One painting is a scene of Belfast docks in the early 1960s featuring an AEC Mammoth Major and a David Patton Leyland Octopus loading potatoes onto the Head Line MV Torr Head IV. A UTA Bedford S type artic is supplying drums of lubricating oil at the rear. Another nostalgic scene is set south of London in the late 1960s at the crossroads on Mitcham Common. A Foden with the traditional metal and wood S20 cab, introduced in 1956, is shown hauling coal. Following is an ERF Sabrina with its cargo of bricks.
