Pictorial Britain Calendar Overview

The Pictorial Britain corporate calendar highlights the link between the diverse landscape of the United Kingdom and the wild creatures which inhabit it, often hidden from view. Each charming location image in this promotional calendar for 2027 is paired with an intriguing inset photo of a wild creature that inhabits that particular place.

Depicted in one image is the white lighthouse on St Mary’s Island, a small tidal island, reached at low tide by a short causeway. It was built in 1898 on a hazardous coast for shipping and operated until 1984. There are splendid views of the coast and the surrounding nature reserve which is a rich habitat for wildlife including rockpools, clifftop grassland and sweeping, sandy beaches backed by dunes. The inset photo shows a shore crab, the most common crab on UK shores. Normally a greenish colour, but often yellowish-orange or red, shore crabs are found in rockpools and shallow waters. They will eat anything - seaweed, mussels, barnacles and even smaller crabs.
