One fabulous image shows Porthcurno in Cornwall. This beautiful white sand beach, near Lands End, is backed by granite cliffs on a turquoise bay with a stream flowing down. On the cliffs above the bay in a superb setting is the Minack Theatre, built into the clifftop. Porthcurno became a worldwide telecommunication centre when the first submarine telegraph cables were landed here in 1870. Another peaceful photo shows bluebell woods near the delightful village of Chawton in Hampshire, home to Jane Austen for the last eight years of her life. The writer lived at Chawton House and would often walk through Chawton Park Woods, near the village. The maintained woodland which includes mighty beach trees and Norway maples has allowed a stunning display of bluebells to flourish in late spring.
