One magnificent photo is of Portmeirion Village, Gwynnedd. Created by architect Sir Clough William-Ellis, from 1925 to 1976, Portmeirion is an Italian-style private village set on a rocky peninsula overlooking the sea. Fragments of demolished buildings from all over Britain were incorporated with new ones. The statues, fountains, waterfalls and gardens full of exotic plants and trees add to its charm.
