Wildlife in Britain Desk Calendar Overview

Discover the shy, endearing creatures that we only glimpse from afar, brought to life close-up in the Wildlife in Britain desk calendar. This appealing desk calendar showcases wonderful wildlife photography of animals, birds and butterflies in their natural environment on each page.

On January’s page we see an alert rabbit. Speed and agility are a defence against predators so they have large hind leg bones and well developed muscles. Rabbits live in big groups, burrowing underground to form complex warrens. In the clear hierarchy, the dominant males are the top breeders and breeding is prolific- litters of 3-7 babies are born monthly from January to August. November’s photo is of a Eurasian beaver. These large rodents with brown fur, a broad, flat tail and large orange teeth live in small family groups and eat aquatic plants, leaves, twigs and bark. Beavers use their teeth to fell trees and branches and drag them into place to build dams, creating ponds of deep, still water in which they construct lodges to live in, safe from predators.
