Rose Calendars Raises Over £200 for St Helena Hospice with Bake Off-Inspired Fundraising Competition
Rose Calendars has raised over £200 for St Helena Hospice following a Bake Off-inspired fundraising competition held at our factory.
To celebrate the return of the popular baking series, colleagues from across our production and office teams came together to put their baking skills to the test in a fun and friendly competition, while raising valuable funds for St Helena Hospice.
The event brought colleagues together for a day of creativity, friendly competition and, of course, plenty of cake!
Our Bake Off-inspired competition provided a fun way for colleagues to get involved in fundraising, with all proceeds from the event going towards supporting the hospice and its important work.
We were also grateful to Marriages Master Millers, who kindly supported the event by donating flour for our bakers to use in their creations.
A Showcase of Baking Talent
The competition attracted an impressive selection of homemade bakes from across the Rose Calendars team. Entries included delicate filled meringues, intricate layered cakes and gluten-free almond creations. One particularly impressive entry even featured detailed diaries made from icing and a fresh rose – a fitting touch for our company and entitled ‘Rose Cake’.
Two members of the St Helena team kindly volunteered their time to judge the entries, assessing each bake on both presentation and taste. With so many creative and delicious entries to choose from, it was certainly no easy task.
Congratulations to Our Winner
After careful consideration, the overall winner was Inna, whose professional-looking peach cheesecake received nearly full marks from the judges.
As our Rose Calendars Bake Off champion, Inna was presented with a specially engraved wooden spoon, an apron and a chef’s hat, suitably celebrating her baking achievement!
From Baking Competition to Charity Bake Sale
Once judging had finished, the bakes were made available to Rose Calendars colleagues as part of a charity bake sale. Staff were more than happy to sample the remaining cakes and sweet treats, with many also taking their favourites home to share with family and friends. The result was a fantastic day of fundraising, with colleagues enjoying some well-earned treats while contributing to a great cause.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who took part, donated and purchased the bakes, the fundraising total has already exceeded £250, with further donations still coming in.
Rose Calendars Proud to Support Our Community
The Bake Off competition was a fantastic example of how fundraising can bring colleagues together while supporting an important local charity. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the event, including our talented bakers, the St Helena Hospice judges, our colleagues who supported the bake sale and Marriages Master Millers for their generous flour donation.
At Rose Calendars, we are proud to support St Helena Hospice and delighted that our team could combine fundraising with a little friendly competition and a lot of cake!
Well done to everyone involved, and congratulations to Inna on her winning peach cheesecake!
