Rose Calendars Supports St Helena Hospice’s Roses for Remembrance Event
Rose Calendars was proud to support St Helena Hospice’s recent Roses for Remembrance event, helping to create a meaningful opportunity for families and friends to honour and celebrate loved ones who are no longer with us.
Held at the stunning Beth Chatto Gardens in Essex, the event brought a day of remembrance, reflection and shared support. As part of its sponsorship, Rose Calendars funded the ceramic roses that formed the heart of the event, with visitors able to purchase a rose in memory of someone special.
The beautifully crafted ceramic roses served as lasting tributes to loved ones who are dearly missed. Following the event, roses were home, creating a permanent and personal keepsake that continues to honour cherished memories and special people.
Visitors were invited to explore the many different areas of the renowned, award-winning gardens, including the tranquil water garden, arid and dry garden, resevoir garden, woodland garden and scree landscape. The peaceful environment provided the perfect setting for quiet contemplation, allowing people the time and space to reflect on cherished memories and celebrate the lives of those they miss.
A dedicated remembrance area also offered activities designed to help families express their thoughts and feelings. Guests were encouraged to contribute to a memory blanket, write messages in a bottle and share treasured memories through a memory frame. These thoughtful activities proved particularly meaningful for families and children experiencing grief, providing gentle and creative ways to remember loved ones.
One of the most moving moments of the day came during a special address by St Helena Hospice’s Spiritual Lead, Tim Leeson. Drawing on the symbolism of the rose, Tim spoke about how the flower is far more than its beautiful bloom. He likened the roots and the entire plant to the enduring nature of love, reminding those gathered that while we often focus on what we can no longer see, the foundations of love, memories and connection remain firmly rooted within us. His heartfelt analogy resonated deeply with attendees and provided comfort to many.
The event highlighted the vital role St Helena Hospice plays in supporting local families through end-of-life care and bereavement services. Events such as Roses for Remembrance not only raise essential funds but also create opportunities for people to come together and find support in shared experiences.
Rose Calendars was honoured to support such a meaningful occasion and is proud to have contributed to an event that brought some comfort, remembrance and hope. We extend our thanks to St Helena Hospice, Beth Chatto Gardens and everyone who took part in making the day such a special tribute to loved ones remembered.
