Bumper Collection for Festive Food Bank Parcels

Last week we were humbled and overwhelmed by the support our staff gave to a national food bank project organised by Family Business United, especially given the busy time here in the run up to Christmas.

Generosity and contributions were given aplenty, in a collection of tinned and dry goods, pasta, cereals, biscuits, chocolate, tea, coffee, tinned fruit, toiletries and some treats, which were collected together and delivered into the regional hub event taking place in Sudbury at family business firm Caribbean Blinds.

We were especially touched by a donation made by our seasonal bindery team, all of whom have worked with us for the busy period. They are a fantastic group of Ukrainian staff who joined us in the late summer, helping us to fulfil our customer orders in time for Christmas. Despite their own hardship, they chose to jointly contribute a lovely box of goodies, decorated with the Ukrainian national symbol of sunflowers. Given with love and support, this donation was particularly poignant.

All the staff at Rose Calendars donated items to the collection, meaning we were able to contribute 6 large boxes and hampers of food to the project, which will be shared across food banks and charities to be received by those who need it the most this Christmas.

Through wonderful coordination by Paul Andrews at Family Business United and associated businesses supporting this cause, all the items have been received by charity partners and have already been distributed to those in need.

It has been a fabulous effort which will make a big impact both locally and through the national campaign and something we have been very pleased to support.

If you would still like to make a cash donation which will be converted into food parcel donations, these can be made until December 22 using the link below, selecting the region of the UK where you would like your donation to make an impact. Thank you.
